When Life Forces You to Slow Down
If you’ve been following From Leisure to Luxe, you might have noticed there was no post last week.
The truth? I was sick. The kind of sick where even opening my laptop felt impossible, and as much as I wanted to push through and keep the momentum going, my body had other plans.

I used to see slowing down as failure. I believed if I wasn’t constantly pushing, creating, or moving forward, I was falling behind. However, this past week reminded me that sometimes you have to listen when your body says “stop.”
Running a business while working full-time is a constant balancing act. There is no pause button. Even when you’re unwell, orders still need to be processed, content still needs to be made, and emails still come through. However, I’ve learned that giving myself space to recover is not weakness, it’s necessary. Because, without me, there is no Elzandi.
Here’s the thing, this journey is not at all a straight line. It is messy and some weeks will be big wins. Others will be about simply showing up in whatever way you can. I am okay with that.
So, while I don’t have some huge breakthrough to share this week, I do have this:
- You are allowed to rest.
- Slowing down does not mean giving up.
- Taking care of yourself is the best investment you can make in whatever you are building.
I’m back now, ready to keep creating, keep learning, and keep sharing the journey with you.
Thanks for being here through the big steps, the small steps, and the weeks where the next step was simply pressing pause.
Welcome to Week Three of From Leisure to Luxe, and thank you for sticking with me.
