From Leisure to Luxe: The Search for the Right Manufacturer

The Search for the Right Manufacturer - Turning Vision into Reality

When I first started looking into creating Elzandi, I could see the shoes in my mind. The pointed toe. The elegant line of the heel. The way they would make a woman feel taller, more confident, more herself.

Seeing it in my mind was the easy part.
Turning that vision into something I could hold in my hands was a completely different story.

The Start of the Search

Finding a manufacturer was not like scrolling through a catalogue and picking a name.
It required hours of research, countless emails, plenty of video calls, and finding ways to explain what I wanted so it translated across language, distance, and culture.

I thought I would feel nothing but excitement when I received the first samples. I did feel excited, yet it came with a sharp jolt of reality. The shoes looked beautiful and exactly how I had imagined them. However, creating the perfect product is about more than appearances.

The First Feedback

I remember opening the box and holding the shoe in my hands.
It looked elegant, timeless, and beautifully made. It was everything I had envisioned.

Then I tried it on.
The insole lacked the cushioning I had requested, especially under the ball of the foot where comfort matters most.
The sizing was slightly off, enough to affect the fit.
Even the sticker on the sole, which seemed like a minor detail, was incredibly difficult to remove.

That moment taught me that creating a product people will love is not only about how it looks. It is about how it feels, how it fits, and how the small details work in real life.

Learning to Give Feedback

Providing feedback to a manufacturer as someone new to the industry was intimidating.
I wanted to be respectful and to acknowledge their craftsmanship.
I did not want to offend the people who were helping bring my dream to life.
At the same time, I had to hold my ground on the details that truly mattered to the experience of the women who would wear these shoes.

I learned to be specific.
Rather than saying, “This does not feel right,” I said, “The insole needs more cushioning under the ball of the foot for all-day comfort.”
Rather than glossing over the sizing, I explained precisely how it needed to be adjusted.
I even raised the issue of the sole sticker, requesting an easier-to-remove option or no stickers at all so customers would have a seamless unboxing experience.

Each round of feedback brought us closer to the vision.
Each adjustment reminded me that persistence is part of the process and that the details define the difference between a good product and a great one.

The Turning Point

The first time I opened a box and saw a shoe that looked right, fit correctly, and felt comfortable, I felt a rush of relief and pride.
It was proof that holding the vision through the messy, frustrating back-and-forth was worth it.

What I Learned

If you are building something from the ground up, whether it is a product, a brand, or a dream, remember this:
The first version will rarely be the final one.
Finding the right partners is not about instant perfection. It is about persistence, clarity, and the courage to speak up for the details that matter.

This process taught me that leadership does not always mean having all the answers.
Sometimes it means asking the right questions and insisting on the standard you believe in.
